Frank writes "After a few days of running the SQL Services (mssqlserver and the sql server agent) the two processors on the server show about 50% CPU usage. We run SQL Server 7.0 and NT4 with SP6.
This is strange because at those times (at night) there are no clients connected to the server and there are no jobs that are running. The minimum processor load is always at least 50% busy doing nothing.
When we restart the services the problem is gone for a few days and then it comes back. When we reboot the server the problem stays???
I also tested this on another server with 4 processors and here everything works just normal.
Does anybody have suggestions for this problem?"
