I am only a novice to middle of the road SQL developer and use DTS quite a bit for ETL. I do not know SSIS. I loaded the DTS dev component and am able to modify and run my existing packages fine. As far as creating NEW packages, can anyone tell me why I shouldn't simply modify an existing DTS packages and rename? I seems to me this would be a simple solution. I'm sure there are valid reasons why this shouldn't be done...I just don't know what they are. Thanks in advance!
