I have noticed this for a long time, but have not been irritated enough to figure it out: but now I am getting annoyed enough to investigate...Using the out-of-the-box SSRS installation, running a relatively simple report, if I click any link on the page while the little green moving icon is rotating, the browser page seems to freeze. The browser itself is fine, another page can be used to browse normally, but the SSRS page simply sits there seemingly forever. Sometimes it eventually responds. Most of the time I get irritated and close the browser. If I use another page to try to connect to the SSRS URL that is hung in the first page, that too does not respond. Assuming that the SSRS was waiting for the SQLServer procedure to rollback before painting the requested link, I ran the proc manually from management studio and stopped it in mid-stream. It took no time at all to stop.So what is SSRS doing that prevents it from proceeding in a reasonable timeframe? |
