There was a partial install of sql server on my machine when I got it, in that it looked like much of the tools had been deleted. I tried to finish deleting the entire thing, but even though the uninstaller lists the mssqlserver instance, it does not show in the list of clickable instance to delete. I then tried to just tools back in but that didnt work either. So I just installed sql server 2008 express with Advanced tools and install seemed to go fine. I then tried to get into report service config, but I can't seem to get the server correct. The install is on my local box, but neither my box name, nor 'local\sqlexpress' are working as server names. I suspect that some remnants of the previous install is causing the foul up, but I dont know how to fix it. Please instruct me thank you.
