Hi,

We are using a 2008 R2 server standard and are using replication quite a bit.
Currently we have about 50 publications and ~150 subscribers. Each subscription
has ~150 tables and a bit of data flow but not really that much.

The problem is that we are running into performance issues, high cpu, disk usage
and so on. This is running on a "medium" performance server, ~200gb disk space,
8gb ram, quad core cpu. I have a feeling that the performance takes a dive when
a lot of the clients/subscribers are offline for a while.

Do you have any real life experience with replication on this scale, common problems,
good practices etc...? I don't know how sql server is designed to handle, is this
considered a large replication setup or can it handle thousands of subscribers?
