Hi All,We have SQL 2005 and 2008 R2 instances. I want to secure our SQL native backup files. I'v done some researches about mediapassword. But it does not stop someone reading data in plaintext. There are some recommended 3rd party tools (RedGate and Quest). but the cost is a bit expensive. (we have log shipping for DR, it will also need license). So, I would like to know how you actually encrypt backup files? my main aim is to secure the backup files. any disadvantage if i use something like 7-zip?Thanks in advance |
