| I created a windows 2005 express database and finally had everything working.A system admin came and made some permission changes on the server - he claims he did not touch any sql settings.I now get an error when trying to access the db either from asp or from managment studio express on the same server as the sqlthe error is:An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. when connection to sql server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settins SQL server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - could not open a connection to sql server)what could cause this? I checked and remote connections are allowed through tcp/ip and named pipes. |
