Gurus please attend (or unattend as you will see ;)

We've got quite a few database servers to upgrade from 6.5
to 2000. Hundreds.

Has anyone run an unattended install "AND" upgrade of the
user databases from 6.5 to 2000?

We've tested an unattended install and upgrade of the
databases from 6.5 to 7.0 and it works.

So far, I've haven't seen much about unattended upgrades
from 6.5 to 2000. I was told by Microsoft that it is not
supported. However, it seemed odd to me that MS would have
an unattended install but not an unattended upgrade of the
user databases. We have sites all over the country that we would like to upgrade from 6.5 to 2000 and being able to do this unattended would be the ideal way to do it.

My thought was to do the unattended install and upgrade
from 6.5 to 7.0 and then install 2000 and do a detach and
attach of the user databases. This essentially makes 7.0 a
service pack to go to 2000.

The only alternative I have is to have someone go on site
and do this manually.

Any ideas?
