| Gurus, I'm failry new with sql 2005 and have been experiencing an issue with some complex queries. Lately, anything more complex than the usual select from (an update on large table for instance), appears on the activity monitor as 8 different processes (8 = number of logical processors), the task never ends and these processes are marked as wait_type = CXPACKET.I was doing some reading, and apparently I need to decrease the number of parallel threads (Am I right?), but I'm unsure how to do so.I believe we're not be making use of pararllelism and partitioning as we should.Let me know if you guys can think of anything to help.---"Try not to become a man of success but rather try to become a man of value." |
