| I want to use the Office 2000 Server extensions and have SQL 2000 Server installed. If anyone has seen the articlehttp://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q281/4/60.ASPyou know this is not very easy to do without breaking either SQL 2000 or OSE.I now have a working OSE with MDSE (aka SQL 7) in Windows 2000 Server SP2. But I had to uninstall SQL 2000 just as the article above said I had to.My question is this. I do not want to uninstall OSE, reinstall SQL 2000, reinstall OSE because I know it will not work. OSE will look for MSDE and I believe uninstalling OSE OR installing SQL 2000 will destroy MSDE (aka SQL 7). Is that correct? Is there a way to install SQL 2000 Server with MSDE (aka SQL 7), already installed; left alone and not destroyed; and not destroy OSE?Sorry about all the initials, but hey I didn't make them up. Thanks.George Hester |
