Matt writes "I am trying to use a GRANT CREATE PROCEDURE to 'someuser' from within a stored procedure. Unfortunately, however, there seems to be a conflict when granting create procedure permissions from within a stored procedure. At runtime, SQL Server does not know what to do with the "PROCEDURE" keyword.

Is what I am trying to do even possible? I would truly appreciate your help. Books Online, and all of the online articles I have found, don't specifically address granting CREATE PROCEDURE from within a stored procedure.

Sincerely,
Matt"

I could be exposing myself here to revealing my lack of knowledge on this one.....but....would it work if you put the statement into dynamic SQL?

I'm not sure about how wise it is to be doing this anyway....but maybe it's necessary.
