Hi,
we have installed windows 2003 small business server.
On the server we installed msde (sp3).
We have a program that connects to the database.
All works fine.

Problem :
The clients (xp) cant connect to the server.
When i build a connectionsting, than i get the error
'server does not excist or access denied'

I think he cant see the msde on the server, which is running.
What can i do?

Thanks

Peter

Does the client have access rights to the server?

Do you use the same connection string you are using to connect when you are running your program from the server?

Yes, i just copy the program and connectionstring to the client pc.
The program is written in delphi, using ado.

Do i have to make other connections???

Post the connection string so we can see it.

Did you get this sorted?

MSDE now installs by default with no network interfaces.

You need to install it with the DISABLENETWORKPROTOCOLS=0 option before it will be visible across a network.
