larry writes "I have 40 independent sql 7.0 desktop servers on Windows98 2nd edition. How can I administer them on a Windows 2000 server running SQL 7.0. Each location has a router on frame relay. Can names of servers be used if I have dns on my w2k server or do i need to use ip addresses? SQL does not recognize ip addresses at least i don't think so. ( I've tried registering with Enterprise manager with no luck.) Does replication work with Desktop edition? does export work? Neither works for me (using the wizards.)
How do you automatically start the Server Agent when rebooting (on the desktop edition) it is greyed out on the Service Manager and even when checked under Enterprise Manager/Management/Sql Server Agent/properties/Advanced it will not restart if the Server is stopped and restarted?
I need to deploy scripts to the remote sites, also. How can this be done from my w2k server?

thanks Larry."
