Works for me.

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
DTS can be used in a similar way.

I have been working on VM machines for about 6 months and my VM is a Shared Environment.

works well, although I still prefer real hardware for most production stuff. We've actually clustered some SQL VMs together for our DEV/TEST environments with great success.

We might at some point roll out some production databases to this system.
