Hello, I installed MSDE on my local machine and copied over a .mdf database from a live SQL Server. I also copied an ASP application to my machine (XP sp2). I installed MSDE using securitymode=SQL and disablenetworkprotocols=0.Everything worked fine until i decided to install SQL Web Administrator. I installed that and done the pre-requisite upgrade of dot Net. When I went to access the site i received a user login failure on the SQL account. Although the username and password authenticates on the live system. So i done an uninstall of .NET and basically returned back to where i begun, including the reinstallation of MSDE and even re-copied the .mdf file back over. Still i receive:Login failed for user 'helpdesk'Can anyone shed any light on this mysterious problem. I have tried changing the authentication in the registry and restarting the services, 0, 1, 2 respectively. Many Thanks in advance for any assistance you can give, Regards,Lewis |

Okay, i have checked in enterpise manager and it doesn't appear to have the permissions set at the table level, although in the login section the user that has permissions has adequate permissions to modify the tables. I'm not an SQL Server whizz, this has to be obvious to someone.. please help.quote: Originally posted by lewissheridan Hello, I installed MSDE on my local machine and copied over a .mdf database from a live SQL Server.
