I have 7 SQL Servers backing up to 1 storage area network. Some of the backups are interfering w/ each other because occasionally a "backup failed - device unavailable" message is generated. If the time of the failed backup is changed, it succeeds. I'm thinking of documenting all the backup times so I can visually see activity, but I'm hoping there is a better way (less time-comsuming & expandable to other DB activities), possibly w/ a visual scheduling tool. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks. - ray (SS2K)

I don't understand why they are interfering with each other. The SQL Servers should not be using the same SAN disk.
