| I'm definitely a SQL LiteSpeed junkie. They've recently released version 4.0 (AKA LiteSpeed 2005) which added multiple compression levels. I've gotten an extra 10-25% compression out of it without sacrificing any speed, in fact some of the higher settings (4-6 out of 11) are faster as well as smaller. It costs more than the others, but I've found their reputation well-deserved and their support has been top-notch, especially since I'm a small client for them (2 licenses, with 2 more hopefully on the way soon) They have excellent tools of all kinds (GUI console, xprocs, and command line), including one that lets you extract LiteSpeed backups into regular SQL backup files, so you're not stuck if you have to restore to a server that doesn't have the software on it. |

| You could consider using SQL Backtrack for MS SQL Server from BMC. It is a good product for backup/recovery. You can download a free trial version to try it out.http://www.bmc.com/products/proddocview/0,2832,19052_19429_23365_1058,00.html--Kishore |
