| Hello,In migration from sql 6.5 to sql 2000, please let me know the replacement of 'segment' present in sysindexes table. What is the suitable replacement for segmap column of sysusages in Sql server 2000 ?Thanks in Advance.Sriram |

| In fact, read everything you can in Books Online regarding indexes and pages. The storage mechanisms in SQL Server have changed significantly since 6.5; it's fair to say "forget what you already know", because it really does not apply anymore.There's also sections on "What's New" and "SQL Server Architecture" that have more details. You should also look at "compatibility" entries and study them. Some commands and system tables also have level entries, "Level 1" includes features from 6.x versions that have changed significantly and should be studied. |
