New server installation.

Anytime I edit the properties of *any* Login, it asks me to confirm the password, and it never matches what the password should be.

So. Anytime I edit properties now, I need to be sure to enter the actual password in the dialog box so when prompted for the confirmation, it will match.

Never seen this before. Is it something new, a bug, or a misconflaguration?

Sam

Thanks.

Patch 819 is Beta and this isn't urgent. Should I hold my breath for a full release of the patch?

From the article...

WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, administer SQL Server from a workstation that has the SQL Client Tools installed and that does not have the MS03-031 security patch installed.

Also, where did you see this was a beta release? I can't find that.

Am I looking at the wrong patch for this problem?

Sam, you should be installing patch 819, which is not service pack 4.

I didn't notice the link to patch 819. Problem solved.

Anyone running SP4 Beta?
