| I read comments in this forum that the Maintenance Plan wizard is not the best way to execute a maintenance plan. What are the cons of using the wizard other than less control? |

| from experience, errors are very difficult to troubleshoot, i end up recreating the entire package in the end (simply because, i can't understand which step was executed first, which to step over to and so on)--------------------keeping it simple... |

| it depends on what type of maintenance you're planning to perform.try exploring, jobs, alerts, data transformation services (DTS),basically the plans are executed as jobs and scheduled to run at specified period(s)--------------------keeping it simple... |
