What happens when you try to start the MSSQLSERVER service from the Services applet? Any errors in the Application Log in Event Viewer?Tara |

they (MSDE and MSSQLSERVER) run from there and also in QA and EM. when i type <compname>\MSDE in server manager i get the error.i had a hard time registering the MSDE instance in EM and this post was going to include this also, but when i tried again for the sake of typing exactly what the error said, lo and behold, it registered. so, this post is only about why i can't see the msde processes in the server manager.Jeff Schaffer |
