Im trying to use log shipping to backup over the internet to a machine outside of the network. However, in setting up log shipping it asks for the destination server, and this cant be typed in, the dropdown box has to show the server. I have added the server in enterprise manager on the server I want to back up, but still cant add it in log shipping options. I havent tried a VPN and really dont want that as my only option. Any resolution to this? |

When you register it inside EM, are you then able to connect to that server via EM?Tara |

Yes I am able to connect. Also when I was testing out transactional replication, it worked fine because I could type in the destination server by ip, which you would think you could do with log shipping. |

Is there any reason the server is not showing in the dropdown, even though it has been added in EM with admin rights? |
