| Barry boy writes "I am trying to apply SQL server service pack 4 to SQL 2000 running on a windows 2003 server and I am having the following problem.The Instalation is timing out, with the errors:-A service control operation failed for the MSQLSERVER service 1460. | Are you applying it locally?Have you got suitable permissions to do the upgrade?Also, if your machine has AWE enabled, don't install SP4 yet.-------Moo. :) |

did you follow the procedure and precautions on SP4 installation?just hoping that you installed it on a test server before productions --------------------keeping it simple... |
