| Jim writes "I have setup an Oracle Database Linked to SQL Server 2000 as a Linked DB. For the most part it is working without problems, but the other day We lost connectivity to the Linked Server. When I restarted SQL Server the connectivity was restored. Is there a way to re-esblish communications with the linked server without retarting SQL Server?" |

| I know I've had linked servers go down and come back up without my having to restart SQL Server, so it's probably a network issue, the Oracle system going down, etc., not necessarily a SQL Server problem. |
