HI

I'm trying to connect to Msde with enterprise manager on another computer.

I have changed the LoginMode in the registry as instructed in a microsoft walk through and yet it's still not letting me log in.

Any other reason. except the obvious wrong password

thanks

dumb question but msde didnt/doesnt have a network configuration setup (at least it didnt when I installed)

have you tried:

1. Properties for the msde sql server
2. click on Network Configuration button
3. enable a connection protocol (ie add tcp/ip or named pipes to the Enabled Protocol set)

Normally MSDE does not allow TCP/IP connections after installation. This can be overridden with some command line settings or specifying it the setup's INI file.

You can enable this by running the SVRNETCN.exe and enabling TCP/IP. This program usually resides in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn
