| Hi Group,Recently, my friend asked me one question, "Why transaction log backup cannot perform in simple recovery model ?".i have gone through BOL and some articles on recovery model but was unable to find out the ans for same.Help me on this.Chetan |

| Because it does not need it. The changes in the transaction log are cleared shortly after they are made and when the transactions have been written to the database. Making your recovery mode simple assumes you do not want to recover to the point of failure and that you are OK with only recovering to the last full DB backup. Theredore transaction logs and the space they consume are not neccesary. This should not be used in production environments.Sean RoussyPlease backup all of your databases including master, msdb and model on a regular basis. I am tired of telling people they are screwed.
