Mike writes "I have SQL Server 7 sp3 running on NT4 sp6. The service account which MSSQLServer uses is correctly configured under Exchange to send/receive mail. I've tested sending and receiving with this account using the Outlook 2000 client, and it works fine. SQLMail starts successfully, and is correctly configured, and when tested, will start/stop a MAPI session. When I open a query window and try to send mail using xp_sendmail, nothing happens. The window hangs on 'Executing Query ...' until I cancel it. This same scenario also occurs on my laptop, which is Win2k Pro, with SQL Server 7. I cannot find any solutions to this problem anywhere, although I have seen it documented several times. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated."

I just wonder besides relaxing the security settings, is there another work around?

You can install the Outlook 98 client and remove Outlook 2000. Outlook 98 does not support the new security patches.

We can't. Our required version for Outlook is either 2000 or 2002.
