I was at a client site and found some indexed views in one of their databases which happened to be running SQL2k Standard edition. I was under the impression that they could only be created on the Enterprise or Developer editions. I got this impression from the fact that books on-line specifically states it as so. Is it possible that the DB could be created with Developer edition and then restored to Standard edition? If not how could the indexed views have been created on an instance of SQL2k Standard?DanielSQL Server DBAwww.dallasteam.com |

| Hmmm. Not sure. But the restore would work. I would think that the indexed views aren't working. The views might be working, but you aren't getting the benefit of the indexes on Standard Edition. Check out the execution plans to see what indexes are being used.Tara |

Yeah good idea. At the time I did a select top 10 from one of the indexed views and it did in fact return 10 rows but I didn't look at the plan.DanielSQL Server DBAwww.dallasteam.com |
