| I am very new to sql database administration . The server I am looking after has 25 databases and when I try to expand databse folder , it opens after 2-3 minutes . The users also complain about slow response . I selected each database and in its property / options , I changed recovery model to simple(earlier it was full) . And in alltask options I shrunk the database . Even after this the response is very slow . Pl provide other solutions .Bhat |

| First, find where the bottleneck is. Your main suspects are: CPU, Memory, Disk Space, Locks and Buffer Cache Hit Ratio. Here's a link to how to measure each of these:http://sql-server-performance.com/sql_server_performance_audit2.aspHTH=================================================================The most tyrannical of governments are those which make crimes of opinions, for everyone has an inalienable right to his thoughts. -Baruch Spinoza, philosopher (1632-1677) |
