There is some question in my company as to whether we need to continue rebooting our SQL Server 2000 machines once a week as part of regular maintenance. Most of them run on Windows 2003, some on Windows 2000. Any opinions or suggestions either way would be appreciated.

I never reboot mine, except for security patches...

there is no reason to do this except for software installs and patches that require it. if your machine is getting constipated it is better to address the cause.

ever rebbot a machine and have it not turn back on? you get a little quesy when this happens.
