| Lenny writes "I recently converted to xp home. Previously I was running sql server 7 (MSDE) on Win98 w/o problems. But now w/ XP cannot connect at all -- not with Enterprise mgr, Access projects, Query mgr, etc.. In all cases, I get the msg, "Connection could not be established - SQL Server does not exist or access denied".The server is running (via service manager) -- although I notice in the services test box of the manager, the service is indicated as "Distributed Transaction Coordinator". I don't recall if that was the indication when I was running successfully on Win 98.I'm trying to connect w/ login:sa and blank pw.The Client Network Utility is set for TCP/IP, multiprotocol and named pipes. Server Network Utility is set for Shared Memory, multiprotocol and TCP/IP. (Was trying multiple combinations). Thanks for any help you can provide.Lenny" |
