Hi everyone. I have a remote server hosting a SQL Server DB. On my local machine I installed Enterprise Manager to connect to my remote database. This has worked fine until this weekend when I rebooted the machine. Now I cannot connect remotely. My SQLServerAgent service gives me the following error when I try to start it:

"Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion."

Now, from what I have read this error occurs if the restart takes more than 3 minutes. Well, I get this error after about 10 seconds. I narrowed it down to the SQLServerAgent service after reading this error in my Application Log:

"SetServiceStatus failed (reason: the handle is invalid)."

Any ideas?

Thanks everyone,
Chris
