Hi,A more appropriate comparison is Express versus Jet since they are both database engines and Access is an application development environment. Either way, no such paper exists for Express. There are a number of papers that discuss the difference between MSDE and Jet and give tips for using MSDE as a data store for either Access or VB applications. These seem to be the ones to start with:Using Microsoft Access 2002 with MSDE 2000Pasted from <http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/dnacc2k2/html/odc_msdeintro.asp?frame=true> Appropriate Uses of MSDE FAQPasted from <http://www.microsoft.com/sql/msde/howtobuy/msdeuse.mspx> Choosing and Using MSDE 2000 as the Database Engine for Your ApplicationPasted from <http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/dnmsde/html/msderoadmap.asp?frame=true> Microsoft Data Engine (MSDE) for Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0: An Alternative to Jet for Building Desktop and Shared SolutionsPasted from <http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/dnmsde/html/msdeforvs.asp?frame=true> Hope these help,Regards.Paul RandalLead Program Manager, Microsoft SQL Server Storage Engine(Legalese: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.) |
