Kuma writes "Hi,

I have a bit of a mess here. I won't bore you with the details but I had to reinstall Windows 2000 and SQL2000 which went along fine.

I have two problems.
1)The backups from the old installation got trashed.

2)The DTS packages that were saved were saved as 'local packages', and you guessed it, no recent backup.

One good thing is I actually made copies of the directory structure of the data location and of the Program Files folders in case the backup screwed up.

I do have the original *.mdf and *.ldf files in the copied directory structure that contains the Data folders, together with the master and all other dbs from the 'old installation'.

I'm unsure how to get it back into the new installation, and where SQL2000 actually saved the local DTS packages.

So in theory I should somehow be able to retrieve all data together with the DTS packages, right?

Any suggestions would be apprecitated.

Kuma.

PS. Running Win2k, sp2 + hotfix, SQL2000 with SQLsp1."
