| Hello,I was wondering whether it is possible to query linked servers in SQL Server Management Studio Express 2005 if those servers linked to are SQL Server 2000 machines?I have added some linked servers to express and queried them, however the login timeout is expiring. I thought it might be because of an incompatability. Cheers,Damien. |

| In case anybody else has this issue. The reason I could not connect to the SQL Server 2000 machines was due to the fact that there were SQL Server aliases from my machine with the same alias name as the SQL Server machine name I was attempting to connect to. Use SQL Server Configuration managager to remove or backup the problem alias'. |
