| count writes "Sorry if this isn't covered by your forum, but i can't find the solution. I think it is a problem with the authentication on my server. I have my server set up in Mixed mode and intend to connect to my database using an ODBC sql server driver (the default one supplied with Win2K.)I have setup my user in the Security folder, and then ensured that the user is in the appropriate user sections of both my database and the master database. I then create my ODBC System Data source, using again SQL server authentication. When i get to the end i test the source and the Driver connects straightaway. If i then try to just test the ODBC source, by clicking configure and then finish, i get the following message:[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for userI have tried reinstalling the server several times. I have installed sql server 2000 sp2. I have discovered that if i create a user without a password then my driver will connect successfully. Any hints would be greatly appreciated. Thanks" |
