| HI, I am seeking help on sql 2005 database mail.I just installed a new sql 2005 with sp2 on a windows 2003 sp1. I enable the database mail in surface area configuration and configured the database mail, but I got a error message when I tried to send a test mail, I used the sql server and sql server agent startup account to set up the mail. The mail could not be sent to the recipients because of the mail server failure. (Sending Mail using Account 2 (2007-06-11T20:17:57). Exception Message: Could not connect to mail server. (No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it).)thanks. |

| usually there is always an SMTP server around, make sure you have it configured correctly. Sometimes if you do not enable smart host in SMTP, it will send the email outside(example Yahoo, MSN etc.) but not to your work email internally. You may have to involve somebody from network/system admin group. If you don't have these resources, respond back, I will put up something for you.RegardsParesh MotiwalaBoston, USA |
