| We have two instances of SQL Server 2005 - SP1 installed on one server. The default instance starts very slowly. When looking at the log I can see the delay is due to Resource Manager based upon the following error.MessageResource Manager Creation Failed: 0x8004d102(XACT_E_DUPLICATE_GUID)What does this mean?What would cause this to happen?How do I resolve the problem?Thanks, Dave |

| It does appear to be MSDTC-related, but here's the latest.The problem jumped from the named instance of SQL Server to the default instance. I then restarted the server and the default instance was ok, but the error occurred in the named instance. It appears that whatever instance is started second experiences the problem. | I'm in the process of reinstalling SQL Server to see if I had a bad installation. I doubt this will resolve the problem. I suspect this is more of an O/S issue.Thanks, Dave |
