in profiler there's a column called EventClass
and that column shows stuff like RPC:Completed, SQL:BatchStarting, etc...
now in the profiler i go to File-Save as->Table
and pick a server table etc and save it.
in that table there is also of course the EventClass column
but the eventclass column in the table holds the id of the event class so instead of saying RPC:Completed it has a number 13.

same thing if i save to a file and use fn_trace_gettable

any idea how to map that id from the table to a value from the profiler? so that i don't have to do manual mapping for each class which is mildly put annoying.

Thanx

Here is the answer:

use master;
GO
select * from sys.trace_events;
