I have a table on my database, sheet1$, created when someone imported an Excel spreadsheet, now I can't get rid of. It apparently doesn't even exist! Any suggestions on how to get of this phantom?

Thanks,

Jim

I tried that and I get an invalid object message. I can't even select from it!

You can't select from it, you can't drop it, and SQL Server says it isn't there.

What makes you think the table actually exists?

My loose grip on reality needs for it to exist to convince myself I am no longer hallucinating.

I am not the sa on the server (we just switched from an environment where everybody was sa) but I still get to deal with these wierdnesses

Thanks,

Jim

Are you dbo? If not, ask dba to fix it.

Try refreshing your object browser. The name in the table list will probably no longer be there.

Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.

rmiao,
I was dbo then I wasn't for a while (without being told that) and now I am again! We recently switched to an HA cluster (without testing or warning, we just came in on Monday, and there it was). In the old environment just about everybody was sa, then nobody could do anything, and now I'm sure we're on our way to everybody being sa again. Can I nominate my boss for the twit list? Our production db is the same as our reporting db and development db. We spend most of our time putting out fires. At least I have successfully dropped the table.

Thanks for all your help

Jim
