xp_readmail

These are some additional stored procedures that allow SQL to access the SQLMAIL account you've set up.

Mail is sent to the SQL Severs mail account, and it is the responsibility of SQL Server to 'pick it up'.

Look up xp_readmail in the TRANSACT SQL HELP to find references to other stored procedures that allow you to step through your mail messages, process and delete them.
