| All,I have sql server 2005 standard edition on a xp pro machine. I want to be able to connect my laptop; running xp home to the sql server. Can I do this. I have file and print sharing lan enabled on both computers. I can put sql developer on the laptop if that will work. Please help me.Thanks |

| Yes, you can install sql2k5 standard edition on win xp pro machine. If you have direct network connection between that machine and laptop, then you can access sql server from laptop. |

| I setup the network between my computers. It's working. I can see both in my network connections. But when I try to setup a login in Sql Server Management Studio, I don't see my laptop in "locations" to add a user for my laptop. What am I doing wrong? |
