| hi,I'm a DBA, recently encounter one weird case.I received an alert on distribution log file running out of space. Everytime, i increase the log file size, it reset back to in original one after several hours. Does anyone know what is going on?Apprecaited if anyone can answer this.Thank You.Regards,Jimmy Liew |

| are u taking log backups of dist db? what is recovery model? may need to increase frequency of log bkp |

ahh good call rmiao.... by the way Liew, auto shrink is almost always a bad idea. |

| Did you check recovery mode and db options? Can find them in db properties -> option tab. |

| when u say the file resets size to original, do u mean what sysfiles SSMS is showing you, or the physical size on disk? how often are u backing up distribution db? is it in simple or full recovery mode? |

| russell,I checked it by executing "DBCC SQLPERF(LOGSPACE)" command.I found no backup job running on distribution database.Regards,Jimmy Liew |

| What is recover model? it is one of full, bulk-logged, simple.Maybe u have a maint plan backing up all dbs?how r u increasing size? |
