Hi there

Is there any issues to point the Microsoft SQL Server Upgrade Advisor to the SQL2K production environment during normal hours? Any issues that you know of? Or anything that I should to know about this tools?

Thanks

it really wouldn't be a best practice to do something like this.

you should run the advisor against other databases to understand how it works first. I personally would run the advisor against a copy of prod, not the actual prod environment - but that is just me being a dba.

Hi,

Upto my knowledge there wouldn't be any effect by running upgrade advisor aainst production database. But,don't install that on production server install that on any other box which is in network.
