| It depends on what you're using the data for, how much there is, what are the budgetary concerns, etc... If it were me and the databases are going to be around for a few more years, then I would definately upgrade the server to be ready for the next 3-5 years. You didn't mention the O/S but I would also move to Windows 2000 Server(SP2) as well. JamesH. |

I dunno ... a dual 200 MHz machine? Quite a smoking box, I don't see the need to upgrade for years And, as I constantly complain, tell us what the disk subsystem is, it matters much more than the cpu.setBasedIsTheTruepath<O>Edited by - setbasedisthetruepath on 06/05/2002 10:57:50 |
