| I have two sql server 2000 servers and one of the databases is being replicated. Both the publishing and subscribing databases are in Full Recovery Mode and the database is not that big.. about 4 GBMy problem is that the Brain Surgeon that set this up put the subscriber (destination) DB on the C:\ drive and the DB log on the subscribing Server grows and grows and fills up the drive. I shrink the log and logfile about once a week to manage it.. but is there anyway to fix it permanently? Eventually I will get a window to move the database to anyother server or to a different drive on the same server.. but it seems to me that I should be able to manage the log growth.. can I change the subscribing database from Full to Simple recovery mode without breaking replication? |

| How often do you perform a full backup? It sounds like you are not check-pointing the database at all. |

| Thanks. but I'm just trying to figure out what is recommended or best practice for a subscriber Database.. Full recovery with Full and TLog backups or plain old simple recovery mode with full DB backups. |

| We have our subscribing database in SIMPLE recovery model since all of the objects and data are in the publishing database. If you have any objects or data that is not in the publishing database, then I would recommend keeping FULL recovery model and scheduling more frequent tlog backups.
