Hi everyone,

I install SQL 2005 enteprise edition on window xp mahcine.
I don't know why some staff in our company has local server but some are not.

I know some of them have installed express edition. is that reason?

How to create a local server?

Thank you in advance

While installing SQL Server there is an option to choose between default instance and named instance. In Express edition it always installs the named instance unless you select the default instance. But in other editions default instance is the default installation option. Refer SQL Server books online for more details.

Enterprise Edition can not be installed on Windows XP.
I think you missed the message where only client tools are to be installed.
