First, you must learn to read the title carefully.

You have posted in a SQL Server 2005 forums on question related to SQL Server 2000.

This is quite vague question since we don't know what details of project you are working on. Besides, as KH pointed out you must post your question in SQL 2000 forum because there is quite significant amount of changes in both these products.

You need to find out if there are any trouts in the kettle of fish you are talking about, then ask for a length of string, but don't tell anyone how long you want it.

On a serious note - How much do you know about SQL Server and what is the project?

Comparing to people like you i dont have much knowledge in SQL Server. If you all can reply to my question then thats fine...I admit that its a mistake from my part but here we have both SQL Server 2000 and 2005 so it doesnt matter ,comments on 2005 will also help me.

Thanks

your question really is too vague to come up with any useful answers. depending on the project, what development stage it's at, your own company procedures (just for starters)... any answer here is just a guess

Maybe it will be quicker if you tell us what you *do* know about SQL Server? if the answer is nothing, then why did you get assigned to a SQL Server project? And if you don't know much of anything, you really need to start with basics -- read some good books on SQL Server, there are many here: http://www.sqlteam.com/store.aspx
