Hi

I've just installed SQL Server 2005 on my local machine. When I try connecting to the server I get the following message:

'Login failed for user 'Home-PC\RR'. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 18456)'

I am using the correct the username and password but still having the same problem.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Thanks

Do you use sql authentication? Ensure you use valid sql login which created in sql already. For windows authentication, you don't have to input user name and password.

You are probably going to have to go in under the "sa" login and grant access to the "HOME-PC\RR" login and give it sysadmin privileges (if that's what you want it to have).
