Hello,

Do I need to restart service after I set recovery option

"ALTER DATABASE SET RECOVERY XXXX"

can i specify RECOVERY OPTION in CREATE DATABASE?

You might need to take a full backup to get tr logs though.

DTS can be used in a similar way.

Nope - it gets the recovery model from the model database which be default (wrongly imho but ms won't change it) is full.
I always set model to simple when I install a server.
